Enable Your Site for Verified by Visa with ClearCommerce Payer Authentication

ClearCommerce Payer Authentication (CCPA) enables your e-commerce site to begin accepting VbV

ClearCommerce Payer Authentication (CCPA) enables your e-commerce site to begin accepting Verified by Visa (VbV) transactions right away. The Clear Commerce Payer Authentication is part of the system of servers and software that make up VbV. The CCPA is a "plug-in" application running on the merchant's Web server or stand-alone server to enable VbV authentication from the merchant's storefront.

How does it work?

  • Cardholders register with their card issuer and choose a password to associate with their card.
  • When cardholders use that card at a Verified by Visa-enabled merchant, they are prompted to enter their password.
  • The bank authenticates the buyer and shifts the liability for that transaction from the merchant to the issuer in cases where the buyers say they never initiated or authorized the purchase.

To enable your online store, use the ClearCommerce Payer Authentication module. It's a Java Servlet that easily snaps into your web-based storefront. It completely automates the cardholder password authentication through Visa's 3D Secure directory service, and returns a "proof of authentication" token that guarantees you will not be liable for fraudulent chargebacks.
